The church was founded in 1775, and the earliest engraved stone still legible is a hand made stone commemorating M Mc. who died 10 Feb. 1788, age 36. This survey used Kara Graham's March 1972 survey of the cemetery, in the booklet Alamance County, North Carolina Cemetery Records of Cross Roads Church, Stoney Creek Church, Union Ridge Church by Kara Graham and Sophie Stephens Martin. (Chapel Hill, NC, 1974). Kara's data was updated and augmented by a photographic survey by Gary Thompson on April 9, 2009.

Locations for pre-1972 burials are indicated in Brackets (e.g. [I-12]), showing grave location by Row and sequence number as given in the Map included in the 1974 booklet. See the 1974 plat map here.
