In 1984 Martha Harrington recorded three or more gravesites marked with uninscribed stones, reported in Kathy Brooks Jones, Buffalo Creek Chronicles, Vol. I. Boe Goodwin visited and photographed the site in June 2023. He recorded what appear to be three graves marked by fieldstones under a large oak tree.

Deeds suggest that the property was part of the estate of James Alexander "Sandy" Marks, who died in 1923 and according to his death certificate, was buried in the "home cemetery." Most of the deeds referenced below refer to the "graveyard." It is possible that the land was in the Marks family and the graveyard established prior to James Marks' occupancy. While only three graves marked with fieldstones are evident, the area should be closely examined by professionals before any disturbance to determine whether additional graves are present.
