      Location - North side of Balsom Road, approximately 0.25 mile west of the intersection of Balsom Road and Transou Road in Pfafftown NC. The cemetery is on private property in the woods behind a home.

      Surveyed by Phyllis Roberson Hoots, Jerri Brineger and others in 1987. Submitted by Peggy Taylor in February 2011. Photographs taken in 1987 were scanned and added April 2016.

      Hessians were German mercenaries hired by the British to fight during the Revolutionary war. This group became disillusioned and decided to settle in the area near these graves.

      • Row 1. Aged 91 Yrs 10 Mos 11 Days. Death in Stokes County (now Forsyth County). Married Mary "Betsy" George, she was born 1753 died Aug 19 1813 in Stokes County (now Forsyth County) Buried in Hessian Graveyard.
