043    CURRIN FAMILY

      Location - on Tar River Rd, about 2 miles from Hwy 15 south of Oxford.


      Directions: from Oxford city limits, drive south on Hwy 15 for 5.3 mi. After crossing Tar River bridge, turn left on Tar River Rd.; drive approximately 2 miles. The cemetery was located on the left next to the road.

      Told to Bonnie Breedlove by Hazel Currin, June 1998. It is not identifiable as a grave site.

      This cemetery is not identifiable as a burial site but is known to exist through what the older people remember. The stones were destroyed long ago and the old oak tree that shaded them is also gone now. WPA records show one stone, that of Sophia S. Currin, born- 18 Jun 1873 and died- 2 Jan 1887. She was the daughter of J.G. and L.H. Currin.
