      • Wife of Henry Watson Lee. Rev. Annie Ruby (Ruth) Lee, age 82, was born in Harnett County to the late Alonzo and Aline Buie McLean. She departed this life at her home with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Watson Lee, a son, Henry Lewis Kelly Lee, eight brothers and three sisters. She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Ethelene Lee of the home; sons, John Lee of Sanford, Johnny Lee (Shirley) of Lillington, Bruce Lee (Jennifer) of Broadway, Calvin Lee of the home and Rev. Fitzgerald Lee (Theresa) of Dunn; stepdaughter, Victoria Wilson of Flint, MI.; a sister, Mable Cotton of Sanford; special sister, Rutha Ray; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; ten adopted grandchildren; three special daughters, Claudia Lee, Pastor Cathy Ray and Susan Lee; extended family, Millie Harris, Zonie Horne, Shelby McNeill, Jesse Ray, Archie Ray and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Arrangements were handled by C.E. Willie & Cremation Services of Sanford, NC. Services were held at Cameron Grove AME Zion Church in Broadway, NC with burial held at Paradise AME Zion Church Cemetery in Harnett County.

      • Mr. Henry L. Lee, age 61 of 1208 Pinehurst Street, Sanford, NC passed at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford, NC. Henry (affectionately known as "Duke") was born to the late Henry Watson Lee and the surviving Annie Ruth Lee. He was the oldest of seven children. Henry was raised in Harnett County on "The Ponderosa" as he called it. He received his formal education through the Harnett County School System, graduating from Boone Trail High School in 1973. He was a very popular and talented athlete during his High School years. Football was his passion. His favorite NFL team was the Pittsburgh Steelers, and it went without question that his favorite NCAA Team was the "DUKE" Blue devils. Henry's career within the textile industry spanned over a period of over 38 years where his dedication, attention to detail as well as his resourcefulness elevated him into the supervisory realm. Duke loved his jobs as well as the numerous friends he made throughout the years. His Christian Walk and training began at an early age at Paradise AME Zion Church; he later transferred his membership to Hood Chapel AME Zion Church in Cameron. Henry was a man who truly loved God and was devoted to his church, serving in the position of Pastor's Steward for over 20 years. He loved Sunday School and Bible Study, and served as the District Director of Adults of the Sanford District Christian Education Department for many years. Henry Lee was a man who believed in God's word. He was infamous for telling people - "There is one thing that God can't do, and that is lie". He always used his life as an example to others that God can change things if only you trust and believe! Henry leaves to mourn and cherish precious memories: His beloved Mother - Annie Ruth Lee, Annie Lou Frye (Aunt Lou), whom he loved like a mother, a loving wife of 30 years, Claudia M. Lee, 4 children - (Susan Lee)Timothy (Danita), Dwayne (Amanda), and Martina (Timothy), Henry Clinton-"Hank" (Jasmine). 1 sister - Ethelene Lee, 5 brothers - John, Johnny (Shirley), Bruce (Jennifer), Calvin and Rev. Fitzgerald. 1 Brother-in Law - Timothy McMillian (Brenda). 10 grandchildren whom he adored - (Robin)Timothy, India, Charmaine, Marvin, Kalayla, James, Jayden, Noah, Dwayne Jr, Christopher, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and Hood Chapel AME Zion Church whom he cherished dearly. Funeral Service were held at Fair Promise AME Zion Church, 712 Wall Street, Sanford, NC. Burial followed at Paradise AME Zion Church, Broadway, NC.

      • Husband of Shirley Ray Lee. Johnny Logan Lee, age 63 of 115 Old Hundred Loop, Lillington, NC passed away at his residence. Johnny was born in Harnett County to the late Henry Watson Lee and Annie Ruby Lee. He departed this life at home with his family by his side. He graduated from Boone Trail High School in 1975. Johnny worked at Redman Mobile Homes for 25 plus years. He worked at Gene's pipeline for 11 years and Pilgrim Pride for 3 years until his health failed. Johnny was a small engine repairman; he could fix almost anything. He enjoyed being a home repairman, cooking breakfast for his family was a joy to him. He loved laughter and lifted people up when they were down; he was the life of the family. He joined Paradise Church at an early age where he remained until his death. He served as a trustee and he sang with the Males Chorus and any other capacity with no complaint. Johnny had many nicknames to name a few: "Daddy Yoke", "Lizard", "Skibo" and "Sid". He was preceded in death by mother, Rev. Annie R. Lee; his father; Henry Watson Lee, and his brother; Henry Lewis Kelly Lee. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 40 years, Shirley Ray-Lee; daughter who was the apple of his eye, Rhonda Michelle Lee-Martin (Herman) of Lillington, NC and son; whom he loved dearly, Johnny Brandon Lee of the home; sister, Ethelene Lee of Broadway; brothers, John Lee (his twin) of Broadway, NC, Bruce Lee (Jennifer) of Broadway, Calvin Lee of Broadway, and Rev. Fitzgerald Lee (Theresa) of Lillington, six sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-laws; one aunt, Mable Cotton of Sanford; one godson, Isaac Harris of Sanford, NC; and there was nothing like his 3 K's- Kameron, Kesean and Keshsina. Johnny truly loved all of his nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Arrangements were handled by Knotts Funeral Home of Sanford, NC. Services were held at Moore Union FWB Church on Old Hwy 421 in Broadway with burial at Paradise AME Zion Church in Broadway, NC in Harnett County.
