0909    COLE, WILLIS

Location - Bentonville.


On the old farm of Willis Cole near Bentonville, 150 yards west of the Cole house on a privately owned portion of the Battleground Park. Willis Cole married Caroline Stevens Cogdell after the death of her husband John S Cogdell and they moved to the Cole plantation. The house was burned to the ground during the battle and in 1870 they were living just across the county line in Grantham Twp of Wayne Co. It is near property of Donald Rose on SR 1008. 10 marked graves.
