      • [No reference as to where buried]. Husband of Jane Watts Clapp. Son of Charles V. Clapp and Mary Lyall Crotts Clapp.
  2. Harrington, Andrew Brown   (b. 15 Sep 1927 - d. 12 Dec 2017)
      • [Cremation]. Andrew B. Harrington, 90, while surrounded by family, departed this earthly life for a Heavenly one and to see the Heavenly Father. Andy was born on a farm near Broadway, NC to the late Charles Glenn and Delilah McLeod Harrington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Charlotte Harrington Wilson and Gloria Jean Harrington. After graduating from Boone Trail High School in Mamers, NC in 1944, he attended Presbyterian Junior College, now known as St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, NC. Later he attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where he received a B.S. in Business in 1950. He soon embarked on a career of professional sales in the lock and hardware industry, primarily with Weiser and Falcon Lock companies and achieved the distinction of becoming a certified architectural hardware consultant, AHC. Andy was a lifelong Presbyterian and a man of deep faith and was a life time member of Paw Creek Presbyterian Church. He actively served as a Sunday School teacher and Elder and was honored the distinction of Elder Emeritus. All this while he displayed deep respect for all things reverent. Blessed with a keen memory, while well read with divergent interests, he was a walking reference source and amazing storyteller. Andy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris; his daughter, Peggy of Charlotte; his son Paul and wife Myra of Gastonia, NC; and grandson Adam Moore and wife Samantha of Gastonia, NC. He also survived by his sister, Dixie Harrington Perez of Broadway, NC and his best friend and cousin, T. Bragg McLeod and wife Betsy of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte for their excellent care of Andy and their concern for the family. Arrangements were handled by the Forest Lawn West Funeral Home of Charlotte. Memorial services were held at Paw Creek Presbyterian Church in Paw Creek, NC and another service at Andy's original home church of Mount Pisgah Presbyterian Church in Broadway, NC, where he served as a Deacon until his move to Charlotte in 1960. There will be no burial since Andy wished his body to be cremated.
