      Location - Located on Hwy # 64 East (New Bern Ave.) on the south side of the road immediately after crossing the Neuse River from the west into Knightdale.

      This abandoned cemetery is slated to be disinterred and the remains reinterred in Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh, NC. The small cluster of graves is located on a 20.88 acre parcel owned by Parkway Properties Group LLC, and zoned "Heavy Commercial". Wake Co. Real Estate Records gives 0 Knightdale Blvd. as the address, but it is more familiarly known as Hwy. # 64 east.

      Shirley Olson walked the cemetery and recorded what was readable on April 5, 2006.

      Additional information from Paul Hartje, descendant.

      There is a driveway into the property and the cemetery is immediately visible on the right. It is in very poor shape and has been partially excavated in preparation for the planned move. There are 10 gravestones of which 5 headstones were partially readable. A memorial stone indicating burial elsewhere, "In memory of Col. J. Hinton". The remaining graves are unmarked.

  2. Hinton, Mary   (b. June 1766 - d. 9 May 1813)
      • daughter of H. N. and Pherabee Hinton "Stone erected at the request of her daughter Ann Willis Mordecai"
  3. Hinton, P. H.   (b. - d. )
      • no readable dates, stone broken, Believed to be Pherebee Hinton
  4. Hinton, W.   (b. - d. 1806)
      • Believed to be Willis, d. 1806, son of Maj. John Hinton, home made stone
  5. Lane, D.   (b. - d. )
      • no dates, may be Dorothy, daughter of Mary Hinton
