Surveyed by Shirley Olson on January 28, 2002.

Directions from Raleigh: Take Hwy. 401 S. (Fayetteville Rd.) about 12 miles south to the traffic light at the intersection of 1010 Rd. and 401 S. Turn left (east) on to 1010 Rd. and go about 2 miles to the traffic light at the intersection of 1010 Rd. and Old Stage Rd., (SR 1006). A sign designates this as Williams Crossroads. Turn left (north) on Old Stage Rd., and about 1 mile up the road, on your right, (east side) you will see 2 small cemeteries side by side. No parking available, just pull off onto the shoulder.

The cemetery was hidden by overgrowth and brambles but is now cleared since there are new subdivisions adjacent. Some stones are broken and laying flat.

The Williams family established Williams Crossroads in the late 1700s. Edenwood, about 1 mile north of the cemetery on the west side of the road, is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is the ancestral home of the Williams family. A Greek Revival style plantation house, it has been a landmark on the Old Stage Rd. from Charleston to St. Petersburg for nearly 200 years.
