419    OLD JORDAN HILL CHURCH (Blacks Rd.)

      Location - off Blacks Rd (SR-1334) about 0.25 mile from Wise-Five Forks Rd (SR-1306).


      Directions: From Warrenton courthouse on N Main St and SR 1305 (Warren Plains Rd), travel 7.7 miles and turn right onto SR 1306 (Wise-Five Forks Rd). Travel 4.25 miles and turn right onto SR 1334 (Blacks Rd). Travel 0.25 mile and turn left at edge of planted pines. Travel 0.5 mile into the woods on an old timber path. Bear right at the beginning of the hardwood trees. The cemetery is in the wooded area before the creek. The large abandoned cemetery has 100 or more graves, primarily marked with field rocks. Race-African American.

      Note: This is the site of the original Jordan Hill Church and cemetery located near Jordan Creek. The church was established in 1859.
